Milena Velba Mauve Girdle

sacred music series Master of the Roza

Every year around this time, the Choir San Salvador welcomes the sacred music series called Master Roza, which consists of a series of concerts and conferences, always free, leading ultimately to honor the former director, Don Alfredo Roza, who has not had the chance to meet.

In the 4 years, not counting this one, which we celebrate the cycle, we had the likes of Eva Juarez or Marcos García Gutiérrez, who, on the other hand, repeated this year, we discovered the peculiar sonority of the sacred polyphony of the early medieval Corsican and we have heard the Mass of Our Lady in the court of Isabel the Catholic, among many other things.

This year programming cycle V Sacred Music Master Roza is:

On Friday 6, Natascha Jung (soprano), Antonio Amadé Badinski (tenor), Felix Rathgeber (bass), Peter RK Schäfer, (organist), members of the choir of the cathedral of Fulda (Germany) sing the De Profundis, Psalm 129, composed by Marcel Dupré and Joseph-Guy Ropartz.

Saturday 7 the full chorus of Fulda to join the choir of Covadonga to sing the Mass of the 12 in the basilica of the shrine of Covadonga.

A week later, on Friday 13, we hear the Cuncordu e Tenore di Orosei (Sardinia). Their sound can be a bit strange, as a tenore song is the musical expression archaic ethnic-Sardinia (Italy). However, it is also one of the most extraordinary examples of polyphony of the Mediterranean, its complexity, its rich timbre and expressive power.

Friday 20, will be attended by Eva Juárez (soprano), Marcos García Gutiérrez (baritone), Mario Alvarez Blanco (piano) and Oscar Camacho Morejon (pianist) who will perform under the direction of Javier Castro Villamor, the German Requiem (Ein deutsches Requiem) op.45 by Brahms in his version of London, for piano four hands. Almost ná.

And finally, on Friday 27, the San Salvador Choir will sing (sing) along to the chorus of Pueri Cantores, the eve of St. Cecilia, finishing with an "In Paradisum", vibrant and full of emotion, written by HJBotor for this cycle. Except on Saturday

7, all performances are at 20.30 in the church of San Isidoro el Real, which is in the town hall square. You are all invited. ;)
